You can use this feature on devices aside from LINE for PC sub devices.


LINE Calendar is a feature that lets you create, share, and check events while using chats.

About LINE Calendar

LINE Calendar includes chat calendars and personal calendars.

Chat calendars

Chat calendars are created on a per-chat basis.

They have the following features.

  • Chat participants can check events.
  • A notification will appear in the chat when an event is created, edited, or deleted.
  • You will no longer see a chat calendar if you leave the relevant chat.

Personal calendars

Personal calendars are calendars that only you can check.

They have the following features.

  • They are not shared in chats.
  • They let you manage your personal events.
  • You can create multiple personal calendars.

Basics of using LINE Calendar

Chat calendars

Adding events to chat calendars
  1. Open a chat and tap plus icon at the bottom of it.
  2. Tap Calendar.
  3. Enter or select the required details.
    Note: Select None from Alert if you don't need a reminder.
  4. Tap Create at the top right of the screen.
Editing chat calendar events
  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
    Note: To see all events, tap LINE Calendar > calendar icon at the top right of the screen.
  2. Tap the date of the event you want to edit.
  3. From the event list, tap the relevant event.
  4. Tap options icon at the top right of the screen > Edit.
  5. Enter or select the details you want to edit, then tap Save at the top right of the screen.
    Note: Select None from Alert if you don't need a reminder.
  6. Check Send notification to chat if you want to send a notification, then tap Save.
Deleting chat calendar events
  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
    Note: To see all events, tap LINE Calendar > calendar icon at the top right of the screen.
  2. Tap the date of the event you want to delete.
  3. From the event list, tap the relevant event.
  4. Tap options icon at the top right of the screen > Delete.
  5. Check Send notification to chat if you want to send a notification, then tap Delete.
Inviting participants to chat calendar events

You can invite participants when you create or edit events.

  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap plus icon at the bottom right of the screen to create a new event.
    Note: For existing events, tap the event on the calendar > options icon at the top right of the screen > Edit.
  3. Tap Invited.
  4. Select the members you want to invite, then tap Save at the top right of the screen.
    Note: Chat members will appear as potential invitees in the Members or Not invited list.
Registering/checking attendance for events you were invited to

Registering your attendance

  1. Tap See event details in the notification message sent in the chat.
  2. Tap Going or Not going at the bottom of the screen.
    Note: You can change your Going or Not going selection before the event starts.

Checking event attendance

  1. Tap See event details in the notification message sent in the chat.
  2. Check the number of people who selected Going or Not going under Invited.
Checking an event's creator

The user who created an event will appear with a crown icon next to their profile icon in the Invited list.

To check an event's creator, see the steps below.

  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the date of the event.
  3. From the event list, tap the event you want to check.
  4. Check for the member with a crown icon among those who were invited.

Personal calendars

Creating personal calendars from the Friends tab (Only applies to users in Japan)

You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

  1. Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down the screen and tap See more next to "Your events for the next 30 days."
  3. Tap menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  4. Tap plus icon next to Personal.
  5. Enter a calendar name, then tap Create at the top right of the screen.

  3. Tap plus icon next to Personal.
  4. Enter a calendar name, then tap Create at the top right of the screen.

  1. Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down the screen and tap See more next to "Your events for the next 30 days."

  5. Tap the personal calendar you want to edit, then edit it from the Calendar info screen.

  3. Tap Settings > Manage calendars.
  4. Tap the personal calendar you want to edit, then edit it from the Calendar info screen.
Deleting personal calendars

If you delete a personal calendar, its events will also be deleted.

Note: Chat calendars cannot be deleted.

  1. Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down the screen and tap See more next to "Your events for the next 30 days."
  3. Tap menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  4. Tap Settings > Manage calendars.
  5. Tap the personal calendar that you want to delete.
  6. Tap Delete calendar > Delete.

  3. Tap Settings > Manage calendars.
  4. Tap the personal calendar that you want to delete.

  4. Tap Create at the top right.

  3. Tap the date of the event you want to delete.
  4. From the event list, tap the relevant event.
  5. Tap options icon at the top right of the screen > Delete.
Deleting personal calendar events from chats
  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap calendar icon at the top right of the screen.
  3. Tap the personal calendar event you want to delete > options icon at the top right of the screen > Delete.

Setting whether to receive reminders

You can receive notification messages on LINE at the dates and times you have set reminders in calendar events for both chat calendars and personal calendars.

To set whether to receive reminder notifications, see the steps below.

  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap calendar icon at the top right of the screen > menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings > Manage calendars.
  4. Tap the name of the calendar you want to change the settings for.
  5. Turn on or off Receive reminders.
    Note: If you turn the setting off, you won't receive reminders set to the calendar's events.

Checking new events from chat notifications

You can check events from the notifications you received in chats when the events were created.

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Tap See event details in the Event created notification.

You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

  1. Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down the screen and tap the event you want to check under "Your events for the next 30 days."
    Note: If you want to check all of your events, tap See more.
Checking upcoming events from reminders

If a reminder was set when the event was created, you'll receive a notification from the Service Messages official account.

Note: If you have the setting to receive reminders turned off, you won't receive any.

Checking chat calendars and personal calendars together

With LINE Calendar, you can check the events that have been added to chat calendars and personal calendars together.

Checking your calendars from chats
  1. Open a chat and tap LINE Calendar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap calendar icon at the top right of the screen.

  2. Scroll down the screen and tap See more next to "Your events for the next 30 days."

Selecting which calendars to see

You can select the calendars you want to see on the LINE Calendar screen.
Only the calendars you've selected will be shown.
Events from calendars that have been turned off from appearing won't be shown.

Note:
- The information of which calendars are set to be shown will be saved for when you access the screen in the future.
- The setting for which calendars to see only applies to the All calendars screen.

  2. Tap calendar icon at the top right of the screen > menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  3. Check the calendars you want to see.

Adding chat calendars to your favorites

If you add a chat calendar to your favorites on the settings screen, the relevant chat will appear at the top of the list.

  2. Tap calendar icon at the top right of the screen > menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  3. Tap star icon next to the relevant chat in the Chat list.
Checking your calendars from the Friends tab (Only applies to users in Japan)

You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

  1. Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down the screen and tap See more next to "Your events for the next 30 days."
  3. Tap menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  4. Tap star icon next to the relevant chat in the Chat list.

How calendar data is handled after you delete your LINE account or leave a chat

If you delete your LINE account or leave a chat, the relevant calendar data will be deleted in the following situations.

Chat calendars

  • Group chats: If all chat members leave the chat, the data for its chat calendar will also be deleted.
  • 1-on-1 chats: If both you and the other person delete your LINE accounts, the data for the relevant chat calendar will also be deleted.

Personal calendars

  • If you delete your LINE account, the data for your personal calendars will also be deleted.
