After you reinstall the LINE app, you need to transfer your LINE account to continue using your current account and chat history.
Be advised
- If an issue is occurring with LINE, we will post a notice about it under Announcements on our Help center. Please check there for details before deleting the app.
- If you delete the app, you may become unable to check the data on your device or how your settings are configured.
- Please follow the steps to take in advance below before deleting the app.
Steps to take in advance
- Back up your chat history.
- Set a backup PIN for your chat history.
- Check that your phone
number registered to LINE is the same as the one you're currently using. (This applies only to
LINE accounts created with versions earlier than 13.11.0, if they were created outside of Hong Kong, Japan,
Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand.)
You can check your registered phone number from the Home tab >
> Account. - Reset your password if you've forgotten your current one.
Reinstall the LINE app
- Delete the LINE app (on iOS/on Android).
- Reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Transfer your LINE account using your phone number or Apple ID/Google account. (You can only transfer your LINE account using a phone number when using LINE accounts created with LINE versions earlier than 13.11.0 if you're using LINE outside of Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand.)
- Once the screen to restore your chat history appears, tap Restore chat history.
