You need to turn on the Skip 2-step authentication setting in the following cases.
- Logging in to your LINE
account after changing to a phone number that is different from your registered phone number
Note: This only applies to users in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. - Logging in to your LINE
account from the Continue with Apple option
Note: This also includes when restoring from an iTunes or iCloud backup using your Apple ID. - Logging in to your LINE account from the Continue with Google option
When transferring your account using either of the methods above, please go to
> Account transfer options in the LINE app on your
previous device and turn on Skip 2-step authentication.
Note: This step is not required if you're transferring your LINE account with an easy transfer QR code (e.g. the Log in with QR code option) or with the same phone number registered with LINE.
Be advised
- Make sure you transfer your LINE account within 36 hours of turning on the Skip 2-step authentication setting.
- If 36 hours have elapsed, turn on Skip 2-step authentication again to reset the timer to 36 hours.
Useful info
- Although you can transfer your LINE account without it, we recommend turning on Skip 2-step authentication for a smoother transfer process.
